Given an .osm.pbf file, searches for needed features and save them in sliced geojson files per type of object.
The goal is to index all mapcomplete-needed features. Speed is considered more important then memory usage (i.e. might use 3 or 4 times the memory of the given PBF-file, but should be able to handle the planet file in two days)

LatLon2country is a library which allows somewhat fast but precise country determination.
It chops up the OSM-boundaries in many small tiles (depending on needed size). Those can then be queried to determine the countries a specific location is.
If a location is in multiple countries (e.g. contested territory), all relevant country codes will be given.
